It’s interesting to see how “colourful” Shanghai looks. What’s even more funny is when you switch to satellite view and see the dramatic contrast in colour.
Above all it’s an interesting way to show a map… reminds me of SimCity… but is it really useful? I mean it’s not showing the map directly from above like most of the satellite images data Google Maps uses. And unlike Google Earth’s 3D view with X,Y,Z Panning/Zooming this map has a fixed angle and it feels more like a giant painting. Not sure if the amount of work put into this is worth it’s weight in functionality. Humm… but if it was done in an eboy style… that would be a different story perhaps.

That C3 tech is pretty amazing. When they were showing off the Grand Canyon I couldn’t help but think of the Bjork’s video for Joga.
